Storyline

In 2188, humanity lives in a world transformed by Origin, a full-immersion game that merged with reality. At age 18, people receive a talent and class, then grow stronger by completing dungeons, quests, and advancement trials.

Su Liang awakens the highest-ranked SSS talent, Empty-Handed Master, which can silently steal a random possession and may also steal something with each attack. During class selection, he secretly uses it on the guiding angel Shelia and steals part of her class-granting authority. He replaces his offered Phantom Assassin class with the unique Mythic God Slayer, whose passive multiplies every attribute by ten and whose skills provide stealth, crowd-control immunity, and a teleporting strike that resets after a kill.

To conceal his true power, Su Liang registers himself as having an S-rank talent and a Legendary class. He enters the beginner Assassin trial on Nightmare difficulty and quickly discovers how overwhelming his build is:

  • He chains Blink Strike from one goblin to another, using each kill to reset the skill.
  • He puts his level-up points into Agility, improving movement, attack speed, and the chance to trigger his theft talent.
  • He equips a greatsword instead of relying on standard assassin weapons, since God Slayer’s bonuses do not depend on weapon type.
  • Against the hidden Young Goblin King, he deliberately avoids killing it too quickly. Repeatedly breaking combat and letting it recover gives him more opportunities to steal its skills and, eventually, its Shadow Walker talent.

Su Liang earns an SSS trial rating and an Epic resurrection ring. His excessive slaughter also draws the attention of Muser, the legendary Goblin Sword Saint, who marks him for revenge.

He next enters the Nightmare Thunder Valley alone. He steals area attacks from its Lightning Archmage, then uses them to gather and clear huge packs of monsters, repeatedly breaking the dungeon’s speed record. The run brings him to level 20 and earns him major rewards. He completes a five-star advancement quest in a newly discovered ancient kingdom, defeating the Fallen King Alex and stealing his powerful aura skills and Supreme Sovereignty, a talent that weakens enemies’ attributes.

While exploring that realm, Su Liang discovers valuable resources and later steals a Thunder Drake egg. He feeds the hatchling, Xiaozi, a fragment of primordial amethyst, evolving her into a Legendary Amethyst Thunder Flame Dragon. The dragon becomes a flying mount, combat partner, and potent area-damage source.

Su Liang’s rise draws both enemies and allies. He kills several men who try to use him as bait for a wilderness boss, then defeats the boss and steals its defensive Iron Body talent. He also rescues a group being attacked by the Undead Church, kills most of the cultists, and captures one for questioning.

For his third advancement, Su Liang faces the Umbral Mantis in a solo trial. The mantis is a dangerous Legendary boss that learns and adapts during their prolonged battle. Su Liang repeatedly withdraws to let it recover, gaining more chances to steal from it. He eventually takes its SSS talent, Devouring Evolution, as well as skills that improve his combat instincts. He then kills it and completes the trial.

Although he nearly misses the entrance exam, Su Liang arrives on Xiaozi and scores 1.8 million points, taking national first. During the exam, a sixth-advancement Goblin Shadow Knight sent by Muser invades the realm. Su Liang fights it himself and wins, revealing just how far his power exceeds that of a newly awakened student.

Su Liang chooses Tian Academy, where he receives substantial resources. He also uses his stolen class-granting authority to replace rival and romantic interest Qin Xiaoyu’s Epic Paladin class with the Legendary Calamity Knight. After reaching level 60, he completes a fourth five-star advancement, clears the temporary Legendary Spectral Sanctum, and gains further skills, gear, and a Spectral Empress pet egg.

The subtitles end as Su Liang joins Zhao Anran’s 20-person team to enter the Nightmare Niru Kingdom dungeon—his first major group raid.

Gameplay Highlights and Strategies

  • Keep the theft talent secret. Su Liang reveals only enough of his abilities to earn support while hiding the talent and Mythic class that would make others target him.
  • Use kills to chain mobility skills. Blink Strike’s cooldown resets on a kill, making ordinary enemies stepping stones for crossing a battlefield or escaping incoming attacks.
  • Control damage when farming a boss for thefts. If a target dies too quickly, there are few chances for passive theft. Su Liang uses basic attacks, stealth, and disengagement to let bosses recover and prolong the fight.
  • Use stealth offensively as well as defensively. Divine Concealment helps him avoid attacks and boosts the next strike after leaving stealth.
  • Combine stolen skills across classes. Su Liang builds a mixed toolkit of warrior attacks, mage area damage, control, summons, healing, and defensive abilities—ignoring the class restrictions that normally apply.
  • Gather enemies before using large-area attacks. In Thunder Valley, he herds monsters together and clears them with a wide-radius lightning spell rather than fighting each group separately.
  • Inspect unfamiliar enemies and surroundings. This is especially important in the wilderness and secret realms, where enemies vary in level and death is permanent, unlike in dungeons.
  • Choose high-difficulty advancement trials when prepared. Five-star quests provide larger permanent attribute bonuses but impose demanding solo objectives.
  • Exploit complementary abilities. Su Liang pairs his true-damage attacks, crowd-control immunity, life steal, and attack-speed buffs with Xiaozi’s flight and area attacks.
