I got BETRAYED..

Summary

Rav the Roach joins the Alliance guild Olympus in World of Warcraft: Forever Beta after deciding to experience the game’s “dark side” of being carried by a powerful guild. He creates a pink-haired character, quickly rises through Olympus’s ranks, and receives extensive help: players supply gear, guide his quests, and organize dungeon runs to get him to level 30 before the beta ends.

The support comes with a full guild experience. Olympus holds a formal ceremony to name him “Sir Rav the Brave Roach,” introduces him to guild members, and brings a large force to help him access Horde territory. Their dungeon runs are chaotic despite the high-level escorts, but the plentiful loot makes Rav increasingly comfortable with the benefits of guild power. He also describes how Olympus’s large numbers let members call in overwhelming backup.

The story turns when Rav is trusted with Olympus’s secret plan for a final-night attack on Orgrimmar, intended to kill Thrall. He leaks the plan to the Horde, allowing defenders to prepare. The surprise attack fails, and Olympus is routed.

Raid Planning and Lessons

In his reaction, Asmongold says the raid’s failure was largely due to layering and game mechanics, not a lack of preparation. The proposed strategy included:

• Gathering a very large force—Asmongold estimated roughly 1,200 players would be needed.
• Coordinating rally points and routes while trying to avoid groups being split across layers.
• Positioning players to keep Thrall within range and prevent him from resetting.
• Sending hunter pets to hold Vol’jin and assigning hunters to manage other threats, including Nazgril.
• Setting up protected areas for healers to resurrect players and for the raid to regroup.

Asmongold says several possible plans were abandoned because they risked splitting the raid or relying on summons that were unavailable. He ultimately blames layering and reset behavior for the disastrous result.
