Trump is Laser Focused on the Midterms & Our Hero Guillermo Returns After Dancing with the Stars

Guillermo’s Dancing with the Stars Elimination

Jimmy Kimmel opens by treating Guillermo’s Dancing with the Stars elimination like a national catastrophe. The “people’s champion” was sent home on Taco Tuesday. Kimmel compares it to the Mandalorian killing Baby Yoda, jokes that Guillermo’s son might disown him, and says he drove to the beach afterward to contemplate life.

A montage captures devastated fans and a parade of supposed supporters—from sports teams to the NHL—who still couldn’t save Guillermo.

Political Jokes

Kimmel turns to politics, noting that Donald Trump is somehow focused on the midterms while posting a video of a tiger attack and an AI clip of himself wrestling a tiger. Kimmel jokes that the least believable part of the video is Trump running.

He also pokes fun at Trump’s second thoughts about livestreaming an execution, his self-administered “cognitive test” of repeating five simple words, and a campaign speech warning that a boy could go to school and come home a girl. Kimmel responds with a joke about having been “Janet” before becoming Jimmy.

Guillermo and Witney Carson

Guillermo returns to the couch and talks about how tough dancing was on his 55-year-old body: every move seemed to make a knee or hip click. Kimmel imagines his next career moves—a Lakers girl, a salsa, or a reality-show contestant—and suggests he simply show up at Dancing with the Stars next week and keep dancing.

A highlight reel celebrates Guillermo’s unlikely run, from early predictions that he wouldn’t last a week to crowds cheering him on and calling him America’s sweetheart. In the emotional elimination clips, Guillermo thanks his partner, Witney Carson, for teaching him to dance.

Witney joins them in the studio. Kimmel jokes about rumors that her pregnancy means Guillermo is the father, which they quickly deny. They finish with one last playful salsa for the audience.
