Impact Hong Kong supports people experiencing homelessness through practical assistance, rehabilitation services, and opportunities for social inclusion.

• The Guest Room is a safe, welcoming daytime space where people can eat, rest, wash clothes, and access essentials such as food, clothing, bedding, and toiletries.
• Place to Be offers free services and activities, including counselling, mentoring, financial and nutrition advice, visits from medical practitioners and physiotherapists, yoga, fitness, music, and language lessons.
• One of a Kind is a social enterprise that sells donated clothing from fashion companies at bargain prices. Visitors can also enjoy coffee, tea, or snacks, and support people in need by purchasing prepaid items.

Impact Hong Kong hopes to expand its education outreach, improve drug rehabilitation, and create jobs that help people experiencing homelessness return to mainstream society.

A Story of Reconnection

The interviewee recalls helping a husband and wife who were sleeping on a bridge in North Point. With support and a home, they were eventually reunited with their young son and became a family again.

The interviewee credits the charities’ staff and volunteers for making their work possible. Helping people, they say, begins with welcoming them, earning their trust, and making sure they know they are cared for. This first step does not require much money.
