Football Life 27: Immersive Setup Summary

The video walks through installing Football Life 27 and adding free mods for a more immersive presentation. Installation and setup

1. Install the base game

   • Download all eight parts from the Smoke Patch website, place them in the same folder, and extract the first part.
   • Run the installer and choose a new, short installation path. An HDD or external drive is fine.
   • If antivirus software blocks the installation, the presenter recommends disabling it during installation to avoid an incomplete setup.
   • Open the game’s settings tool to choose graphics and controller settings. Consider turning off VSync.
   • Use FL Switcher to select and apply any preferred options.

2. Add real-player faces

   • Extract the face pack and move its folder into SiderAddons/liveCPK.
   • Make sure the asset folder is directly inside the face-pack folder, with no extra folder level, and keep the pack’s original folder name.
   • Add a Sider configuration entry to activate the pack.

3. Install immersion mods

   • Copy the three cursor-mod folders into SiderAddons/liveCPK to replace the large cursor and remove the ball-landing marker.
   • Copy the camera-mod files into the modules folder. The presenter particularly likes the broadcast camera.

4. Set up ReShade

   • Run the installer, select the game executable, choose DirectX 11, and load the supplied preset.
   • In-game, press Home to open ReShade, select the preset, and enable Performance Mode.
   • Copy the optional DLSS 5 files beside the game executable only if you have compatible hardware. Configure the ReShade options as shown in the video.

5. Add optional stadiums

   • Download country packs and copy the individual stadium folders into SiderAddons/content/stadiums, rather than copying an enclosing download folder.
   • Update map_teams.txt and map_comp_finals.txt using the full files from Smoke Patch. Copy only entries for stadiums you installed, and avoid duplicates.
   • Incorrect folder placement or mapping can cause a black screen when launching a match.

6. Apply the Sider configuration

   • Back up the existing configuration in SiderAddons, then replace it with the presenter’s supplied configuration.
   • Launch the game through the desktop shortcut or fl_2027_start.exe so Sider loads the mods.

The presenter leaves gameplay modes unchanged, saying the default gameplay feels improved and that changes to the game’s executable may make older gameplay mods harder to port.
