Overview

Raxia’s lore is told as a repeating cycle of creation, divine conflict, technological rise and fall, and modern-day survival.

World’s Origin: The Swords of Genesis

Three primordial blades—Lumiere (harmony), Ignis (freedom), and Cardia (mana)—carve a world from nothing. When they try to create life:

  • Plants can’t meaningfully use the blades’ power.
  • Animals are too simple.

So they create humans—fragile enough to need the swords’ power, yet intelligent enough to wield them.

Divine Civilization: Schnell Period

A man named Lyphos discovers Lumiere and becomes the first Ancient God, ushering in an age of divine guidance.

Lyphos shares divinity with allies who become gods and found new peoples:

  • Tidan → creates the Soleils (Sun God)
  • Grendal → forges the dwarves
  • Asteria → creates elves and fairy kind

This era is defined by peace and cooperation.

War of the Gods

Peace shatters when remaining swords are discovered.

  • Kilhia finds Cardia and becomes the god of wisdom.
  • Dalkhrem finds Ignis and becomes the God of War, believing power should be hoarded.

Dalkhrem betrays Lyphos, twists humans into the Barbarous (e.g., drakes, lizardmen, goblins, ogres, etc.) using soulscarring—granting power at the cost of humanity.

The betrayal sparks the War of the Gods, ending in a brutal stalemate.

Cardia Shatters: Magic Becomes Universal

Both sides attempt to claim Cardia, but the sword refuses to be used as a weapon. Instead, it sacrifices itself, shattering across the planet and releasing mana, making magic available to everyone—not just gods.

Fairies and fairy magic also emerge.

Even so, the war continues until the gods withdraw to Heaven, exhausted and wounded.

Durandal Era: Magic Civilization

With the gods gone, their mad angel forces—the Astrayed—ravage the world.

A noble elf, Durandal, ends the devastation by systematizing early magic, including:

  • Truespeech
  • Spiritualism
  • Deep Magic

He unites survivors as the first wizard-king, ruling through Dominion. His reign lasts 500 years, then fractures into warring blue-blood wizard-kings who command legions of constructs and undead.

Eventually, they open a portal to the Daemon World, creating the Abyss, which nearly swallows the continent—ending the era in catastrophe.

Al Menas Era: Magitech Civilization

After the wizard kings fall, philosophy shifts to “magic for the masses.” Magic and technology merge into magitech, including:

  • magispheres
  • guns
  • flying ships

Magitech fuels the Barbarous underground and drives 1,700 years of prosperity on the surface.

Diabolic Triumph: Great Cataclysm

That golden age collapses 300 years ago when a massive natural disaster paralyzes magitech, leaving humanoid society defenseless. The Barbarous strike back and destroy Magitech.

The invasion is only halted when a hero kills the Barbarous King—possibly with help from an unknown Fourth Sword of Genesis: Fortuna.

Present Day: Age of Adventure

With former civilizations buried in ruins, society has regressed to medieval levels, and much technical knowledge is lost.

  • Gods remain dormant, but can still be reached through prayer.
  • Researchers recover what they can—restoring a few trains/ships—while most people loot ruins.

The Barbarous still roam, so the world requires adventurers to retrieve treasures and defend survivors: the Age of Adventure.
