Plot Summary

Rookie cadets Park and Kang begin as rivals at the police academy. Park is devastated when regulations force him to cut his carefully styled hair, while Kang’s refusal to eat his sausages gives Park an easy excuse to tease him—and eat them. Their bickering turns into an unlikely friendship after Park carries an injured Kang through a training race. Their instructor uses the incident to remind the cadets that a good officer needs compassion as well as discipline.

Two years later, the friends are still more playful than serious. Hoping for a memorable Christmas, they borrow clothes and bluff their way into an expensive club. Kang’s bizarre dancing and smile scare off potential dates, until a drunk woman mistakes him for her boyfriend. Their brief triumph ends when her real boyfriend arrives.

On their way home, Park and Kang see a young woman being forced into a car. The police are occupied with another case and tell them to wait, so the cadets decide to investigate on their own. Their search leads them to In-joo, a massage parlor, and a trafficking operation targeting women.

The cadets track the kidnappers to Chinatown, where their academy training is put to the test in a chaotic fight. They find In-joo and other captives, but the gang overwhelms them and takes them prisoner. They escape, only for Park’s watch alarm to wake their pursuers. At a police station, an officer refuses to believe they are cadets without proper identification. When they insist that time is running out, he tases and locks them up.

A senior academy officer eventually hears them out, but the gang has already cleared its hideout. Despite the risk of expulsion, Park and Kang refuse to abandon the case. They secretly enlist help to trace the getaway car and discover that the kidnappers are taking the women to a hospital for illegal procedures arranged by a corrupt doctor.

Park and Kang race to the hospital and fight their way through the gang. Kang breaks his arm, but they press on, take down the formidable gang leader, and stop the operation before the women are harmed. Police reinforcements arrive to arrest the criminals and rescue the captives.

Their courage saves lives, but their unauthorized investigation puts their academy futures in jeopardy. At a disciplinary hearing, the cadets admit they broke the rules but say they do not regret acting. A senior officer argues that their actions show the kind of initiative future police officers need. The academy decides not to expel them; instead, their training is extended by a year, with a special recommendation for future advancement. When In-joo thanks them, Park and Kang realize how much their actions mattered and resolve to take their studies and responsibilities more seriously.
