Cosmic experimental short film rec. - unorthodox kitten #filmreview #experimentalfilm #surreal

Quick recap

A short, abstract cosmic film that trades conventional narrative for mood and symbolic, elemental imagery — described by the filmmaker as a “battle of the gods that lasted an instant.”

Main idea / plot

• More impression than story: the piece is a plunge into symbolic, elemental imagery rather than a conventional narrative.
• Central premise (filmmaker): “a battle of the gods that lasted an instant.”

Standout visuals and vibes

• Dominant imagery: deep red clouds, smoke, flames, and silhouetted dark shapes.
• The reviewer likens the experience to “stepping into flames” or “falling into a haunted volcano.”
• Overall energy: big cosmic/art-film feel; comparisons made to The Tree of Life and 2001.

Sound and craft

• Sound design: very cinematic, amplifies an eerie, echoing atmosphere.
• Visual style: sharp and clear; the reviewer notes it can feel almost too rigid at times.

Critiques and jokes

• Title: “makes your eyes roll a bit” (light joke).
• Ending: leans heavily on red — reviewer would have preferred more color variation.
• Overall judgement: an excellent example of how abstract imagery can create powerful mood.
