Service Summary

Worship

The service opened with Psalm 95 and a short reflection inviting the congregation to remember God’s goodness before singing. Worship moved between Tagalog and English songs, including a repeated “No turning back” refrain and a prayer of surrender: “Jesus, have all of me.”

The worship leader connected the songs to Psalm 27, emphasizing that closeness to God matters more than riches, power, or even breathtaking vacation scenery. The congregation was encouraged to keep seeking God’s beauty and reminded that God sees his people as beautiful, too.

Sermon: “Set the Record Straight”

The sermon continued the “Set the Record Straight” series with Galatians 3:1–9, read by Trina. Its central message was that people are saved, made holy, and brought into God’s family by grace through faith—not through religious rule-keeping or personal achievement.

The preacher explained that the Holy Spirit is God’s gift and that the blessing promised to Abraham ultimately points to the gospel reaching all nations through Jesus. Jesus took the curse of sin on the cross so that those who trust him can be redeemed and blessed.

The message included several illustrations:

• The law can tell you that you ran a red light, but it can’t save you from the ticket.
• A music-team member needs more than a willing heart; musical skill helps, too.

Closing

The service closed with prayer and another time of worship. People who wanted to follow Jesus were invited to raise their hands. The preacher pictured redemption as a booth where Jesus willingly pays the full price—his own life—to bring a person back to God and into his family.

The congregation prayed together, and newcomers were invited to come forward for support.
