Obama Criticizes White House Renovations
Barack Obama criticized the president, saying he seemed more focused on renovating the White House than addressing public issues. He mocked plans and changes that included a large ballroom, paving over the Rose Garden, a South Lawn helipad, and extensive gold decoration. Obama joked that the White House looked like “Saddam Hussein opened a Cheesecake Factory.”
He also accused the president of being self-interested and attention-seeking, saying recent actions showed he would cross any line to get into the spotlight. The crowd cheered during his remarks.
