Storyline

Lu Ze awakens with an F-rank talent, Cursed Body. It increases his skill damage by 10% but drains 5% of his health every second. His F-rank Fireball is also weak, and classmates—including his ex-girlfriend Su Xiaoyu and rival Wang Hao—mock him and urge him to abandon the martial path.

A private system appears, allowing Lu Ze to alter one existing character in a description up to three times per day and reveal hidden effects. The system has limits: changes must be internally consistent and cannot exceed what the target can withstand. Lu Ze uses it to turn Fireball into a powerful, endlessly repeatable attack, then discovers that Cursed Body can grow stronger by killing beasts.

He heads beyond the city walls to hunt, earn money for his struggling family, and prepare for the martial exam. His rapid growth helps him buy useful gear and skills, while hidden descriptions reveal new opportunities—and dangers. He learns that his father’s crippled leg is actually poisoned and sets out to find rare ingredients to treat it. Meanwhile, Wang Hao hires the criminal Wild Sand Gang to kill him.

Lu Ze eventually reaches level 10 and uncovers a developing beast tide. He and the exceptionally gifted Su Qingyun report it and join the city’s defense. During the siege, Lu Ze uses his firepower and mobility to reinforce threatened sections of the wall. When Wang Hao secretly uses beast-luring incense to draw the tide toward Lu Ze’s position, Lu Ze takes the incense and lures the beasts away from the city. He faces the leader-class Black Doom Tusk King, edits away its defensive advantages, and defeats it at enormous personal cost. Su Qingyun uses her Frost Empress power to save him and freeze a large portion of the horde, helping the city survive.

After recovering, Lu Ze receives a battle commendation and discovers that his system has upgraded, unlocking a shop and quest interface. He travels to Xingshu City for a joint entrance exam. In the secret realm, he teams up with Shi Li, scores points by defeating beasts and threats from other candidates, and confronts a tier-four Black Water Serpent. The subtitles end with Lu Ze having defeated it and taken first place on the live leaderboard, while Huangfu Xiao and Wang Hao appear to be plotting against him and an unseen observer watches the group.

• Customize skills for efficiency: Lu Ze changes Fireball’s damage coefficient, cooldown, and mana cost, then turns it from a single-target spell into an area attack. Later edits greatly increase its damage and range.
