Episode Summary

Pilar wakes up hungover beside a stranger and panics, convinced she has betrayed Augusto. Ramón eventually explains that she spent the night dancing bachata and buying drinks for the whole neighborhood. The man in her bed, Don Jason, is a 60-year-old hat seller she met at the shop.

Pilar’s mortified attempts to avoid Jason become a running gag: he keeps calling her “my queen,” while she orders Ramón to drive away. She even insists that “what happens in the Dominican Republic stays in the Dominican Republic.” The irony is that Augusto is the one being unfaithful. He tells Renata that he loves her, while describing Pilar as the mother of his children and someone he still cares about.

Dayana is also having a painful day. After seeing Sebastián kissing someone else—the heartbreak suggested by the episode’s title—she breaks down and tells him to leave her alone, without explaining what she saw. Sebastián is baffled and tries to figure out what he did wrong. Luz gently encourages Dayana not to let someone hurt her, but Dayana keeps her feelings to herself.

Meanwhile, Valeria is caught between her growing feelings for Mateo and the expectations of her family and social circle. She has been putting off answering Nicolás, who wants a serious relationship, but realizes Mateo may be the person she truly likes—even though he is the janitor’s son. After a pleasant movie outing with Mateo, she finally tells him, “I like you.” Nicolás arrives just afterward, saying he already has an answer for her, leaving the romantic triangle unresolved.

There is also some lighter family teasing. Kiara confidently places the Dominican Republic in Europe, then wonders if it might be in Africa. When Mateo asks his mother for money to go to the movies, Kiara immediately announces that he has a date, and their mother teases him about kissing his “friend.” The family also jokes that Mateo has fallen asleep during two Godzilla movies, not just one.

Finally, Carmen works on gaining Rosa’s trust, rewarding her for helping out and calling her a friend. In a private message to Pilar, Carmen reveals that Rosa now trusts her completely—and that she is ready to begin the final phase of her plan.
