Learjet Crash in Crest Haven, Florida
Benny Johnson reports that a Learjet crashed in Crest Haven, Florida, near Mar-a-Lago and an airport where Donald Trump had been seen earlier that day. He says nine people were killed and that the aircraft had departed Austin, Texas, for the Bahamas.
The video includes communications attributed to the pilots and air traffic control, describing a rapid descent and steep banking. The cause of the crash has not been established. Johnson says the FAA is sending a team to investigate.
Security Equipment and Online Speculation
Johnson also points to video of air-defense equipment, including Patriot and Avenger systems, and other military technology near Mar-a-Lago. He says the equipment was deployed at the Secret Service’s request amid a heightened threat environment.
He mentions online speculation that the plane might have been shot down, but says available reporting describes the event as a crash and does not establish that explanation.
Johnson says Trump was safe and campaigning. He offers condolences and closes with a Christian message.
