Overview

A short, informal drawing session in which Arina Malko and her grandmother sketch and color a small panda with a simple tree background. Steps (as demonstrated)

1. Draw the panda’s head and basic body shape.
2. Fill in the eye patches and ears with black.
3. Add the nose, mouth and teeth.
4. Draw the paws/arms.
5. Sketch a nearby tree (leaves and trunk) as the background.
6. Color the leaves green and the trunk brown; add black stripes/details on the trunk.
7. Fix any uneven or mistaken lines by painting over them with markers.
8. Show the finished work close up.

Practical advice and tips

• If a line or area is uneven, paint or color over it to correct the shape.
• Keep felt-tip caps closed when not in use to prevent drying.
• Don’t worry about small color mix-ups—adapt and continue; playful experimentation is fine.
