Recap

Shen Yoyu’s visit to the Shen family begins warmly: she and Gu Yangbei share noodles and jokes, while Shen Hanmo watches their closeness with barely concealed jealousy. The mood shifts when Yoyu recognizes Lee Tu, the elegant assistant who once gave her a million yuan. Realizing Lee works for Shen Hanmo, Yoyu feels guilty about taking the money and worries that Gu Yangbei will be disappointed in her.

At school, Yoyu’s simmering anger erupts when classmates spread rumors about her and throw food at her. She retaliates by dumping noodles on one girl, throwing another to the floor, and smearing food over a third. She then marches into the principal’s office and makes it clear that he had better handle the complaints quietly: she has leverage over his own misconduct.

Yoyu’s rage turns more serious when she overhears a former prison bully boasting that the Lin family paid him to torment Gu Yangbei. After disabling nearby surveillance cameras, she corners the man and brutally punishes him for what he did. Lee Tu catches her afterward but chooses to take her home rather than turn her in.

Yoyu gets drunk, vents about Yangbei’s suffering, and becomes affectionate with Lee. Their chaotic night ends in a kiss, and by morning, Yoyu is so mortified that she flees. Lee responds with roses and playful teasing, while Yoyu tries unsuccessfully to avoid her.

Meanwhile, Yangbei’s former classmates provide a nastier kind of spectacle. At a reunion, they mistake a reserved VIP room for one booked by their status-conscious “class beauty.” They mock Yangbei for being poor and an ex-convict, then smash the phone Shen Hanmo gave him. When the group attacks him and Wu Ma, Shen Hanmo arrives and reveals that the room—and the birthday celebration—was hers. She fires the class beauty and bans her from companies connected to the Shen Group.

Yoyu then imposes her own bizarre punishment: the bullies must spend a month eating enormous cakes. Whenever they vomit, she makes them eat that too. The subtitles even joke about how quickly the group gains weight.

The story turns back to Yangbei’s family. After finishing an embroidery piece he has worked on for months, he visits his mentally ill birth mother, then travels with Shen Hanmo to the remote village where his estranged father and Gu Hao have been left. Gu Yangbei finds both men living in horrific conditions. He reclaims the kidney that had been taken from him, and Gu Hao dies during the operation. On the way out, a landslide strikes. Shen Hanmo shields Yangbei and suffers severe leg injuries.

While Yangbei is recovering, Yangi and Xio Ran abduct him. Yangi’s motive is revenge for the earlier cake punishment; Xio Ran, still possessive of Yangbei, pretends he can win him back. They imprison and torture Yangbei, but Lee Tu, Shen Yoyu, and their allies find them. Yoyu kills several of the people involved, including Xio Ran.

Already gravely ill and horrified by what Yoyu has done, Yangbei decides to take responsibility for the killings. He turns himself in, then drinks pesticide in the hope that his death will prevent Yoyu from being prosecuted. Despite emergency treatment, he dies.

Yangbei’s death drives Yoyu to pursue one last revelation: he had a two-year-old daughter, conceived using sperm taken from him while he was imprisoned. The Gu family had intended to use the child as a source of organs. Yoyu finds the girl living with an abusive family and kills the adults who hurt her. When police surround her, she entrusts the child to Lee Tu and refuses to surrender. A police officer shoots her; in her final moments, Yoyu manages to kill the man she had taken hostage.

The story ends with a news report condemning Yoyu as a serial killer. Lee Tu sits alone, drinking and grieving, while Yangbei’s daughter asks whether her father and “little aunt” will come back. The central revenge is complete, but at an unbearable cost: Yangbei, Yoyu, and many others are gone, and Lee Tu is left caring for the child.
