Mike Huckabee told Miranda Devine that he no longer recognizes Tucker Carlson, whom he says he has known for decades. Huckabee described Carlson’s recent remarks and their interview at Ben Gurion Airport as bizarre, citing Carlson’s comments about Jews’ connection to Israel, his account of a demon attack, and his interview with Nick Fuentes.

Huckabee said Carlson’s views have shifted sharply and suggested something was “mentally wrong” with him, emphasizing that he meant the comment seriously.

Huckabee also disputed Carlson’s claim that he was detained in Israel. He said airport staff briefly held Carlson’s passport to complete paperwork while Carlson waited in a business lounge. Huckabee argued that footage of Carlson joking and taking selfies did not fit Carlson’s account of feeling in danger.

Support for Israel

On declining support for Israel among young Americans, Huckabee said some of it may reflect antisemitism, but he attributed much of it to ignorance and social-media misinformation. He argued that online platforms spread propaganda and that many “Free Palestine” demonstrators do not understand the phrase “from the river to the sea.” In his view, calls for a single state would mean Israel’s destruction, not a two-state solution.

Huckabee described Israel as a key U.S. ally, citing shared intelligence, military cooperation, and what he sees as common values. He argued that America’s institutions and founding documents are rooted in a Judeo-Christian tradition connected to Jerusalem and Israel.

AI and American Values

Huckabee argued that U.S. AI systems should be grounded in the country’s founding principles and “objective truth,” rejecting the idea of “my truth.” He linked those principles to America’s promise of opportunity and meritocracy, pointing to his own rise from a family in which he was the first man to graduate high school.
