Ray Gunn Out Of The Theater Reaction and Review!!

Review of Ray Gunn

Kristian Harloff gives Ray Gunn an enthusiastic review, calling it “the definition of a cool movie.” He praises Brad Bird’s blend of film noir and retro science fiction, describing the result as The Maltese Falcon meets Blade Runner.

The film follows down-on-his-luck detective Ray Gunn as he investigates a case alongside an alien partner. In this world, aliens face discrimination, including being turned away from certain bars. Harloff enjoys the movie’s old-school Humphrey Bogart feel, humor, and more adult-oriented approach to animation. He also highlights striking scenes that weren’t shown in the trailer and says the film looks especially beautiful on the big screen.

Harloff calls the film a win for Netflix, Brad Bird, and its cast. He singles out Sam Rockwell as Ray Gunn, Scarlett Johansson as the female lead, and Tom Waits as the alien partner, while also praising Alan Tudyk’s voice work and noting Jamie Costa’s appearance.

Harloff says he loved the film and considers it one of his favorites of the year. He recommends seeing it in theaters if possible, or watching it at home on Netflix.
