Summary

The short film follows Mishti, a lonely girl from a wealthy family, and Tiya, a girl her age who lives nearby in a slum. Despite their very different circumstances, they become friends. The subtitles are unclear in places, but suggest that the adults in Mishti’s household disapprove of the friendship and that Mishti becomes distressed when she can’t see Tiya.

Mishti’s parents take her to a child psychologist, where they discuss possible causes of her behavior, including family dynamics and stress. The turning point comes on Mishti’s first day of school: her ID card falls from the car, and Tiya runs after it to return it. Mishti’s mother initially reacts angrily, but then recognizes Tiya’s sincerity. When she learns that Tiya cannot attend school, she offers to take responsibility for her education, bringing hope to Tiya and her mother.
