Summary

A hectic stretch of work and travel

The creator recounts an unusually busy four months: selling and moving house, taking a Guild Wars 2 sponsorship, helping with the Deadman Allstars B-stream, and hosting a large RuneScape 3 party. RuneScape Reignited

Reignited is described as a fresh-start option for RuneScape 3:

• The servers are intended to exclude bonus XP, microtransactions, and Treasure Hunter.
• Players can pursue a clean-start experience without choosing Ironman mode.

The proposal has drawn criticism from existing players who worry that it will split the community and make veteran achievements seem less meaningful. The creator explains that his earlier comments favoring a restart were made when he viewed it as a last-resort idea. His positive memories of the 2022 Fresh Start Worlds also came partly from their accelerated XP and unusual progression. He does not present his old comments as a firm endorsement of Reignited now.

He understands why a fresh start could appeal to returning players, but is uncomfortable with the possibility that current players will be sidelined. He also argues that some veteran achievements are already viewed skeptically because of the game’s history of bonus XP and other shortcuts; Reignited may expose that perception rather than create it. He remains conflicted and says the idea deserves discussion between players and developers. Jagex was reconsidering the plan and expected to share more information later that week.
