ULTRA Vegito's Greatest Rival Returns

Summary

After surviving his battle with Poseidon, Vegito crashes into the sea and washes ashore, battered and exhausted. He is nevertheless pleased to have added Poseidon’s power to his collection. Yamoshi finds him and helps him up, teasing him for constantly risking his life. Vegito jokes about Yamoshi’s new outfit and “wrinkled skin,” but Yamoshi warns that Vegito and the others aren’t truly free—and that he knows what Vegito is hiding.

Their reunion is interrupted by Dai, who returns with strange, angel-like eyes and a fierce grudge against Vegito. They trade punishing punches and kicks before pausing to talk. Dai accuses Vegito of keeping everyone trapped inside him. Vegito admits that keeping Goku and Vegeta unaware may help them grow stronger—and could eventually help everyone escape. Meanwhile, Goku and Vegeta continue absorbing Zeus’s power, unknowingly strengthening Vegito as well.

The tournament resumes, and Zeus introduces two fighters: Aldous, his red-eyed son, who uses the Devil Gene, and the imposing, silent Talos. Goku and Vegeta step forward to face them.

Vegeta takes on Aldous, who initially surprises him with his speed. Vegeta counters with a Yardrat technique that shrinks his already small frame, making him so fast Aldous can barely track him. The size-change gag gives Vegeta plenty of opportunity to taunt his opponent as he pummels him.

Aldous eventually powers up, forcing Vegeta back to his normal size. He undergoes a partial, then a full, Devil Gene transformation and lands a brutal surprise attack that seems to put Vegeta down. But Vegeta gets back up and explains his advantage: Ultra Ego makes him stronger as he takes damage, while Broly’s battle-driven growth adds even more power.

Aldous transforms further, but Vegeta unveils a form of his own: Ultra Ego Maniac, a dark, smoky, winged transformation that he insists is not the Devil Gene. The episode ends with the new power revealed, leaving its abilities—and the outcome of the fight—unknown.
